Caps Fans Call for Shandirwa Ahead of Bosso Clash

Supporters of Caps United fans have voiced strong concern over the continued absence of midfielder Tanaka Shandirwa as the team prepares for a crucial encounter against rivals Highlanders FC this Sunday at Barbourfields Stadium.

Shandirwa has missed Caps United’s last two fixtures, including matches against FC Hunter on matchday 7 and TelOne on matchday 8. His absence has not gone unnoticed, with many fans attributing the team’s struggles in midfield to his unavailability.

During the match against FC Hunter, frustration among supporters was evident. “Shandirwa's gap is seen, our midfield doesn’t satisfy without him,” one fan remarked, highlighting the perceived lack of creativity and control in the center of the park.

The outcry intensified after Shandirwa was again left out of the squad against TelOne. Wisdom Ntuli, another Caps United  supporter, said, “Our performance in midfield without Shandirwa is not good at all, the boys are failing to manage the midfield play.”

As anticipation builds for the high stakes clash against Bosso, some fans have gone further to urge the technical team to reconsider their selection decisions. “One king who can shut Bosso off on Sunday is Shandirwa. Please tell Chiragwi not to select the team using house numbers or whatever he uses instead of following proper football principles,” said Takudzwa Moyo.

Despite the growing pressure from fans, the club has not issued any official statement explaining Shandirwa’s absence, leaving supporters to speculate as matchday approaches.

Meanwhile, Highlanders come into the fixture with renewed confidence following their first league victory against Chicken Inn. With momentum on their side, Bosso will be aiming to capitalize on Caps United securing  another win in front of their home crowd.
