Violent Glen View Home Raid Ends in Dramatic Pursuit by Residents

A Glen View woman survived a violent home invasion after three armed men allegedly stormed her house, assaulted her and fled with mobile phones before residents gave chase and apprehended one suspect.

Andrew Hogo (45), of Glen View 8, is accused of taking part in the robbery which unfolded on May 14, 2026.

According to prosecutors, the suspects arrived armed with a firearm, an okapi knife and handcuffs before entering the complainant’s home while she was cooking in the kitchen.

One of the attackers allegedly pointed a firearm at her while another grabbed her from behind by the neck. The men allegedly manhandled her while demanding cash and valuables.

Hogo allegedly strangled the woman, causing her to collapse, before the suspects handcuffed her. Fearing further harm, she told them money was kept in a bedroom belonging to her cousin.

During the ordeal, Hogo allegedly threatened the complainant with an okapi knife and attempted to silence her by forcing a cloth into her mouth when she screamed for help.

Residents pursued the trio and managed to apprehend Hogo nearby. A search allegedly recovered an Itel A90 cellphone, an okapi knife and a remote control from his pockets.

He was taken back to the house where the complainant, who had regained consciousness, identified the recovered phone as hers.

Police investigations are continuing as efforts to locate the other suspects intensify.
