Two men were on Monday arrested at Mphoengs Border Post by anti-smuggling officers for smuggling an assortment of goods.
The arrested duo, Onias Moyo,32, and Brighton Moyo,37, were in possession of five refrigerators, four double beds, an assortment of groceries and ten cases of Dragon drinks, four solar batteries, 23 metal chairs, and 20 boxes of diapers.
In a similar case, Norman Chatambura,27, Andlen Gwemure,32, and Ethel Chidyausike,23, were arrested on January 30 at Plumtree Border Post in connection with smuggling two refrigerators, a sewing machine, two television sets, three microwaves, a washing machine and various groceries.
Meanwhile, police in Gweru are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of two unknown suspects who attacked Innocent Hama,32, to death.
The attackers allegedly asked for directions to Cress Village on January 30 near Mission Business Centre.
“The body of the victim was found the next morning with deep cuts on the head and back. Anyone with information to report at any nearest Police Station,” police said.
Simbarashe Dube,36, who was accompanying the victim, fled from the suspects.
