Masvingo model Marvelous Ganje has made it to the Miss Environment Finals scheduled for March 25 at the Harare International Conference Centre in the capital.

The 24-year-old model booked a place among the country’s top 18 models following the semi-finals held at the Rainbow Hotel in Bulawayo between December 17 and 23, last year.

In Bulawayo, there were 26 contestants, who were trimmed down to 18 and if she makes it in Harare, Ganje will book a place at the International Miss Environment in India from May 25 to June 11 this year.

The Bulawayo semi-finals involved submission of a project to do with the environment and in her case, Ganje did a solid waste management project.

There were also the usual competitions for models, including the catwalk.

One of her projects for the finals involves being a brand ambassador of a reputable company with Ganje available for the role with any Masvingo-based company, which will offer her immense experience necessary for her career.

Another model from Masvingo who will be joining Ganje in the finals is Bulawayo-based Tristana Matsongori.

The finals are being held under the theme “Our Environment Our future, Our future our Environment” and will be chiefly sponsored by the Environment Management Agency.

Ganje is appealing to Masvingo and the nation at large for votes as she participates in the finals.

The voting can be followed on the Miss Environment Zimbabwe page on Instagram and votes will contribute to the overall mark.

Ganje says she is confident of winning at the finals, giving her an opportunity of walking away with a brand new car and a cash prize of US$5 000.

“I am confident that I will win the competition and represent my country in India. I hope that one day, I will be a brand ambassador of a big company and use my talent to uplift the disadvantaged,” Ganje said.
