The Zimbabwe Republic Police in Bulawayo has arrested three suspects in connection with theft of 34kgs of copper cables.
The suspects, Levat Sibanda,32, Mlilo Papellon Tshonini, 43, and Master Gambe,32, were arrested while offloading the cables, which were in a sack, at a company that deals in scrap metal in Bulawayo.
Police said investigations conducted revealed that the cables were dug and cut at a farm in Gwayi.
Meanwhile, on February 17, 2023 police in Kadoma arrested Justin Cheza,18, Wonder Nyambili,19, Aaron Mandondo,20, and Notice Gondo, 32, for attacking a complainant before stealing US$ 300 cash and 1.5 grams of amalgam gold at Plot 22, Simington Farm, Patchway.
The other ten suspects who were armed with machetes, catapults, an axe, knives and logs fled from the scene upon seeing the police.
The arrest led to the recovery of two machetes.
