Simba Bhora continues with their activity on the transfer market ahead of the start of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season next month after acquiring rising star Ishe Mauchi, who had stints with youth teams in Barcelona, Spain.
Mauchi, 20, a tall gangling central defender with huge physique, was based in Barcelona for a couple of seasons where he featured for L’hospitalet before moving to Wospac Barcelona where he was captain. He was then snatched by Almeda, who play in the Spanish sixth-tier league but an injury last season forced him to return home to recuperate.
Mauchi believes signing for Simba Bhora will give him a platform to take his career to another level as it will help him with personal growth.
“I’m grateful to Simba Bhora for not only affording me this opportunity but trusting me with it. Having played and captained an academy side in Spain, playing against the best academy sides in Spain, it gave me great exposure that will bring a different dynamic to Simba Bhora as a team,” Mauchi said.
“I do believe that Simba Bhora is a title-contending team from the management, the technical team and down to the players. Growth and consistency is more of a personal goal for me and what is left is to put everything down to work.”
Simba Bhora secretary general Taurai Janhi said the club has a long-term vision and this can only be fulfilled by signing promising young players such as Mauchi.
