As the police continue with their #notocrossbordercrimes campaign, a team of police officers on anti-smuggling duties at Kazungula Border Post intercepted a DAF truck registration number FDS 342 JK GP which was carrying smuggled goods.

The team arrested Adson Gobvu, 48, and Keith Chinzanga, 34, in the process, for smuggling.

According to police: “The two smuggled three sewing machines, two T-shirt printing machines, one Honda Jazz 1.5 litre motor vehicle engine, two beds, 10 dining chairs, two washing machines and one sofa set into the country.”

Cases of smuggling have been spiking with cigarettes and minerals, especially chrome, topping the list of the contraband.

The Beitbridge Border Post has been the most notorious port of entry/exit through which these goods have been smuggled.
