High Court Judge Justice Nyaradzo Munangati-Manongwa has dismissed with costs, an urgent application brought against University of Zimbabwe president Students Representative Council Allan Chipoyi secretary-general Munashe Masiyiwa.

The application had been filed by Elisha Gumbo and Takunda Gift Chinoda, who wanted the High Court to set aside another High Court order, which reinstated Chipoyi and Masiyiwa as SRC president and secretary-general, respectively.

Through their lawyer, Obey Shava of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights Chipoyi and Masiyiwa argued that the matter was improperly before the court and offended against the High Court rules.

Justice Munangati-Manongwa agreed with Shava's argument and dismissed Gumbo and Chinoda's application with costs against the duo.
