Highlanders finally broke the nine-year jinx after edging FC Platinum 2-1 at a filled Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo yesterday.
Bosso had always found it difficult to get maximum points against FC Platinum.
The host found goals from Stanley “Lukaku” Ngala and veteran defender Peter Muduwa.
Elsewhere, CAPS United edged ZPC Kariba 1 nil, courtesy of former Bosso midfielder, Adrian Silla, who scored a beauty.
Both coaches praised Silla’s goal.
“I think it was a beautiful goal although our defender failed to cover some space, allowing Silla to shoot,” ZPC Kariba coach, Darling Dodo said.
CAPS United gaffer, Lloyd Chitembwe was impressed by the goal.
“The dribble and the way he locked the defender was excellent, it was a beautiful goal,” Chitembwe said.
It was Silla’s debut for the Green Machine, a club he joined team this season.
However, CAPS United survived twice after ZPC Kariba hit the post twice in a minute but coach Chitembwe denied that his team was lucky.
“The word lucky doesn’t exist in football. We did what we were supposed to do and got the three points,” Chitembwe said.
However, Dodo felt that luck wasn’t on their side.
“The boys did well but unfortunately, Lady Luck did not smile at us but I’m impressed with the boys,” Dodo said.
