A New Marimba woman who was lured by the police to come out with drugs to the gate has made her initial appearance in court.

Kimberly Masango, 19, of New Marimba, appeared before the Harare Magistrates' Courts accused of unlawful possession of dangerous drugs.

The State, through Tinotenda Masimba, alleges that around 1300 hours on April 28, detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics were informed that Masango was dealing with dangerous drugs.

They lured her to her gate.

Masango came holding a plastic of suspected methylene dioxymethamphetamine in her right hand.

Upon arrival, the detectives identified themselves and told Masango of the purpose of their visit.

That led to the subsequent seizure of the plastic that Masango had brought to the gate, leading to her arrest and the drugs were taken to CID Drugs for further investigations.

A field test was conducted on the seized drugs in Masango's presence and the drugs tested positive to methamphetamine.

The seized methylene dioxymethamphetamine was weighed and they recorded approximately 42 grammes with a street value of ZWL$420 000.

Masango was ordered to appear in court on May 2, for bail application.
