Dynamos are mulling showing current coach Herbert Maruwa the exit door if he fails to collect maximum points in his next two fixtures, a decision which has received mixed feelings from club supporters.
Maruwa has gone for more than five games without a win, and before he played Ngezi Platinum Stars, his team had gone for 380 minutes of football without scoring a goal.
Maruwa replaced Tonderai Ndiraya during the off-season and requested for an overhaul of the team which finished on number 3 last season.
Dynamos went on to buy at least 15 players with Emanuel Jalai, Frank Makarati and goalkeeper Taimon Mvula the only players who still command first team jerseys from the class of 2022.
However, DeMbare faithfuls believe firing Maruwa at this stage will be more dangerous as the new gaffer who will join the Glamour Boys will also request for his own ammunition, which means that the club will finish the whole season rebuilding.
“Firing Maruwa at this stage will be futile, the Dynamos family should be patient with the coach. He is currently doing well despite the negative results, which is something that happens in football,” Tinashe Chakadza told Zim Now.
His sentiments were also echoed by staunch DeMbare fan, Tatenda Mhetu, who said that Maruwa is playing entertaining football.
“Jompano is playing entertaining football so, firing him now won’t make sense. The executive should be patient because results will definitely come. His football is so entertaining despite the results. The results are not displaying the kind of football which Maruwa is playing,” Mhetu said.
However a section of DeMbare fans also believes that the young gaffer is not suitable for the job.
“Maruwa is not suitable for this kind of job. He still needs to learn his ropes in this trade. He can't be doing experiments at a big club like DeMbare,” said another DeMbare fan, only identified as Gindagoriya.
