At least two people were killed while two others were injured in a fatal road traffic accident on Saturday when a Toyota Corolla Axio vehicle with three passengers on board veered off the road to the left after hitting an ox.
The accident occurred at the 140-kilometre peg along the Harare-Mukumbura Road.
“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on 03/06/23 at around 2000 hours at the 140km peg along Harare–Mukumbura Road where two people were killed while two others were injured when a Toyota Corolla Axio vehicle with three passengers on board veered off the road to the left after hitting an ox,” police said.
The bodies of the victims were taken to Mt Darwin Hospital mortuary while the injured were admitted at the same hospital.
Meanwhile, police in Harare are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run road traffic accident which occurred yesterday along Harare Drive near Civic Centre, Marlborough where a 27-year-old man died on the spot after being hit by an unknown motorist.
The victim was pushing a Toyota Subaru vehicle.
