Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson, popularly known as “The Rock”, has gifted UFC fighter Themba Gorimbo a fully-furnished house in Miami after he opened up about the hardships he faced on his journey to America.
During his post-fight interview in May, Gorimbo garnered attention when he opened up about his financial struggles, revealing that he had a meager US$7 in his bank account before his victorious performance at UFC Vegas 73.
He revealed that upon arriving, he had no money and struggled to make ends meet.
With limited funds, he could barely afford transportation to the gym.
He also revealed that a friend came to his aid by sending him US$200, which provided much-needed support and helped him survive during those challenging early weeks.
Moved by the touching story, Dwayne Johnson publicly reacted to the MMA fighter as he drew similarities between their life stories and pledged to help him out.
The Rock recently surprised Gorimbo by making a personal visit to the MMA Master gym in Florida to finally meet him in person.
Gorimbo fights in the Welterweight division and plans to continue in the said weight category, at least in the foreseeable future.
After being endorsed by Dwayne Johnson, the energetic African must be riding on cloud nine at the moment.
The UFC Welterweight currently boasts a record of 11-4-0.
