A man who stole from Bhola Stationery after entering the shop through a broken ventilation window the shop was denied bail.
Washington Munodzana, 18, appeared before the Harare Magistrate’ Courts charged with unlawful entry into premises in aggravating circumstances.
The complainant in this matter is Adam Nazeer, of Ridgeview, Harare who is a manager at Bhola Stationery.
The State, alleges that on July, 11, 2023, Nazeer knocked off duty and locked windows, doors and went home.
During the same night, Munodzana went to Bhola Stationery shop located at number 41 Harare Street, Harare and entered using a broken ventilation window which is on the roof.
On his way in, he dismantled the alarm key pad, alarm box and started wandering in the shop.
Munodzana force-opened the sales department and stole the sales Techno phone that was on the counter.
He also stole two Techno phones that were on display and left the shop.
Nazeer discovered the offence and reported to the police. Detectives from CID Stores and Business viewed the CCTV camera footage and identified Munodzana.
Investigations that were done by the police led to Munodzana’s arrest.
The total that was stolen is US$800 and US$600 was recovered.
Meanwhile in another matter, Munodzana, 33 of Epworth appeared in court facing the same matter.
On July 26, 2023 around 0500 hours, Munodzana went to the complainant’s shop removed one asbestos sheet from the roof and entered into the celling.
He created a hole on the ceiling, entered the shop and ransacked it.
One Byron Sambira heard that there was noise in the shop and Freddy Mwaritaya opened the shop and saw Munodzana trying to escape through the ceiling and he went to the top.
He then jumped to the ground and Shambira managed to apprehend him.
The case was reported to Detectives from CID Stores and Business, Harare who went to the place of occurrence and arrested him.
Munodzana will appear in court on August 1 for bail application.
