Hwedza Government Complex complete and was officially commissioned by Vice President, General (Rtd) Dr Constantino Chiwenga this Sunday.
The completion of the Complex had dragged on for more than 20 years but the Second Republic has completed it in under two years.
Construction of the complex started in 2004 but could not be completed due to several challenges but the job is done after the government’s deliberate move to target all uncompleted projects.
Officially commissioning the complex, Dr Chiwenga said the government is committed to ensuring people have access to services under one roof.
“We want our people to have services under one roof so that they won’t travel long distances,” said Dr Chiwenga.
Mashonaland East Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Senator Aplonia Munzverengwi noted strides by the government to target all outstanding projects in its development agenda.
“Our President is committed to completing all outstanding projects and these are the results of that policy,” said Senator Munzverengwi.
Meanwhile, the Hwedza Registry Office, which is also under construction, is nearing completion.
