South Africa-based Zimbabwean gospel musician Takesure Zamar Ncube is performing at the Christian Embassy Apostolic Church annual revival conference at Dilibadzimo Stadium in Beitbridge.

The seasoned Beitbridge-born singer, who has graced many other festivals in the region, including in Mzansi where he is based, Eswathini and Zimbabwe among others, is performing tonight and the end of the conference tomorrow.

Founder and leader of the church, Pastor Trymore Kufakunesu said Beitbridge town is calm, adding that people are coming in their numbers to attend the annual revival conference.

Affectionately known as Pastor Kays in the border town and its environs, Kufakunesu said earlier fears over holding the revival conference soon after the Harmonised Elections were misplaced because of the prevailing peace in the border town.

“We are happy to be congregating yet again. Beitbridge is calm and peaceful and people have been coming to the revival in large numbers, showing their desire to have personal relationships with Jesus Christ.

“We are celebrating our fourth anniversary as a ministry. The annual revival conference had been forced off our calendar of events owing to the Covid-19 pandemic in line with obtaining guidelines.

“South Africa-based gospel singer Takesure Zamar will perform tonight and tomorrow when the revival ends. We also have been graced by Prophet Onward Gibson and Beitbridge-based Mc, The Edutainer,” Pastor Kufakunesu told Zim Now in an interview.

Ncube formed his group Worship Addicts in 2011 while based in the capital, Harare and in that year, the group released its maiden album.

His greatest asset is his ability to speak and sing in several African languages, including Zulu, Venda, Sotho, Swahili, Ndebele, Shona, and Tswana and this ranks top on attributes that have endeared him with regional gospel music lovers.

Ncube rose to prominence in 2014 when he joined the multi-award-winning gospel ensemble Joyous Celebration as a vocalist, hitting fame with the song Kuregerera in advance.

“Ncube has always found Beitbridge welcoming because this is his home. We are pleased to have him performing at our revival as Christian Embassy Apostolic Church,” said Pastor Kufakunesu, adding that healing and deliverance will part of the conference as well as a one-on-one session with him and Prophet Gibson today.
