Two toddlers, both under the age of five, suffocated in a vehicle they were playing in, leaving their parents heartbroken and a community in mourning.
Kudakwashe Magombo, four, and Kuziva Koffi, three, were found dead on Sunday after their parents, Concilia and Susan Chirupani, left them alone for a few hours.
In a tragic twist of fate, the vehicle locked itself, trapping the innocent children inside. When their parents returned home, they found their lifeless bodies, their hearts shattered into a million pieces.
The news of their deaths sent shockwaves through the community, with many expressing their disbelief and sorrow.
“They were such beautiful and playful children,” said a neighbour, tears streaming down her cheeks. “It’s so hard to believe they’re gone.”
At the Shamva Hospital mortuary, where their bodies were taken for a post-mortem, their parents sat in a daze, their grief palpable.
“I can’t believe my babies are gone,” Concilia sobbed, her body wracked with pain. “How will I go on without them?”
Susan, too, was inconsolable. “I don’t know what I did to deserve this,” she wailed. “My heart is broken.”
