Musa Taj Abdul and accomplices appear in court over armed robbery

Notorious armed robber, Musa Taj Abdul, has appeared in court accused of armed robbery.

Abdul, 47, Prince Makodza, 29, Liberty Mupamhanga, 29, Rudolf Kanhanga, 28, Charles Lundu, 47, Godfrey Mupamhanga, 27, Innocent Jairos, 32 and Tapiwa Mangoma, 27, appeared before magistrate Fadzai Mutombeni at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts being charged with armed robbery.

The State alleges that on June 16, 2019, at Wholesale Beef number 10 A Bessborough Road, Belmont, Bulawayo, Musa Taj Abdul, Makodza, Liberty Mupamhanga, Kanhanga, Lundu, Godfrey Mupamhanga, Jairos and Mangoma, armed themselves with firearms and allegedly used violence or threats of immediate violence on Ndabezinhle, the security guard who was on duty in order to induce submission.

In the process, they stole US$3 450, RTGS$915, a Samsung J7 phone and a Lenovo laptop.

They were ordered to appear in court on November 27.

Abdul is one of the most known criminals in the country who has been charged with carrying out and organising a number of armed robberies  for over two decades before he was apprehended in Beitbridge.
