Zimbabwe’s representatives at the Pan-African Universities Debating Championship, Zimuto High School have raised the flag high by coming second.
"Zimuto High school has won a trophy for the first runner up in the debate category at PAUDC,” announced Mrs Fimiya Tavaziva one of the teachers who travelled with the learners.
The team comprised Solace Zunza, Theophilous Beans. Vespers Makadho and Nicole Jirivengwa.
Zimuto High head Mr Mashava said the school is elated.
"Zimuto High school is in cloud nine, we are feeling very proud of the team for representing the school and Zimbabwe like any other national sports, arts team representing and bringing the trophy to Zimbabwe from Africa. Zimuto ndomuto, ndiyo delicious soup yeZimbabwe. This festive season, we say enjoy this festive season with Zimbabwe and Zimuto High in your mind,” said a jubilant Mr Mashava.
Zimuto High school patron and sponsor Dr Johannes Marisa expressed joy at the achievement.
"At Westview Clinics we are all already in celebratory festive because of what these Zimuto High school has done for Zimbabwe and their school.
"Zimuto has automatically become the pride of Masvingo, Zimbabwe and Southern Africa.
He urged other corporate players to invest in education by sponsoring learners to go to competitions as they bring glory to the country.
"Imagine, as we speak, all States in Africa and globally are talking about these children," said Dr Marisa.
