As chaos continues to fester in the Nelson Chamisa-led Citizens Coalition for Change, with accusations and counter-accusations flying between rival factions of the opposition party, a clash has been playing out on social media, pitting the political entity’s senior officials.

Southerton legislator, Bridget Nyandoro and the party’s Movement Mobiliser, Amos Chibaya clashed on social media, worsening the tensions within the CCC.

The dispute escalated in a CCC WhatsApp group with Nyandoro threatening to expose Chibaya as a hypocrite who allegedly undermines party leader, Chamisa.

Chibaya also labelled Nyandoro former a Zanu PF spy and an enemy of the CCC movement.

Nyandoro branded Chibaya a traitor who was secretly conspiring with party’s secretary-general, Sengezo Tshabangu.

Nyandoro warned: “Yesterday, you wrote hogwash about me ndikanyarara. Nhasi wapamhazve. (I kept quiet and you have repeated) It's fine nyora kechitatu uone what will follow. I am in possession of your videos and audios dzaunonyeya mukuru ne meeting dzese dzawakaita na Tshabangu and you are scheduled to meet him in Gweru on Sunday.”

Nyandoro accused Chibaya of being duplicitous, presenting himself as a loyal lieutenant of Chamisa while secretly backstabbing him.

Zuro ndizuro you said President (Chamisa) vane nharo havaudzike and havana plan in front of Hwende (Charlton), Kore (Lynnette) and Tobaiwa (Judith) but you want to try and fabricate stories to push some of us out of this party. Haa manje unonyepa ini hapana kwandinoenda. I am here to stay," reads part of the chat.

Nyandoro threatened to take her revelations to social media, a move that she said would unfortunately and unwittingly expose not only Chibaya but also other CCC members.

She expressed regret that in her bid to expose Chibaya’s alleged duplicity, other party members might be inadvertently implicated.

These internal conflicts come at a time when the CCC is already grappling with factional fights, following the recent recalls of legislators and councillors initiated by Tshabangu.

This latest episode of infighting underscores the deepening divisions within that party, posing a significant challenge to its unity and effectiveness in the political landscape.
