Opposition Citizens Coalition for Change national youth task-force administrator, Pashor Sibanda, has been summoned to report to the Bulawayo Central Police Station.

CCC spokesperson, Promise Mkwananzi confirmed the development. Reasons behind his invitation to the police are not yet known.

“CCC national youth task-force administrator and legitimate MP for Cowdray Park constituency, Pashor Sibanda has been summoned by Bulawayo Central Police. We are yet to learn of the reason why he has been summoned. Our lawyers will be accompanying him to the police station and we will keep you updated,” Mkwananzi said.

“We are a legitimate political party in Zimbabwe that believes in the use of constitutionally available avenues to change the government in Zimbabwe and institute a new government for everyone. Pashor Sibanda is a key national youth leader who subscribes to these values and participates in the change agenda within the confines of the law and a peaceful path to legitimacy.”

However, recently, Sibanda threatened to take to the streets to voice his party’s displeasure at the Sengezo Tshabangu-instigated recalls of MPs, Senators and councillors.

“As the governing party given the mandate by the people to lead and take the country forward, we want to send a very clear and straightforward statement that we are the now and the future of this country and we won’t allow or let any barbaric organisation formed and governed in Harare to try attack and despise the will of the people, specifically here in Bulawayo Province,” he said.

“We want to send a clear message to the regime to reform as a matter of urgency and let the will of the people be respected and protected. Failure to do so the streets shall be the avenue of our struggle,” he added.
