Two men who used duplicate keys to steal a car have been arraigned before the court.

Carrington Nhliziywana, 38, of Greencroft and Phillip Chigusira, of Kuwadzana, appeared before magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka accused of stealing a car.

The complainant in this matter is Shephard Tauro.

The State, through prosecutor Anesu Chirenje, alleges that on November 6, 2023, at around 2000 hours, Tauro parked his car, a Honda Fit.

He allegedly locked the doors and went to sleep.

It is alleged that Nhliziywana Chigusira went Tauro’s house and used duplicate keys to start the car and they drove away.

When he realised that his car had been stolen, Tauro made a report at ZRP Stodart.

It is alleged that on December 18, 2023, Tauro spotted his car in Graniteside, with the two accused and he told the police, leading to their arrest.

The value of the car was US$3 500.

He was ordered to appear in court on December 28, for bail application.
