Citizens’ Coalition for Change Member of the National Assembly for Mount Pleasant Constituency, Fadzai Mahere, has officially resigned as its representative in the august house with immediate effect.
This comes as Mahere had earlier last week expressed her decision to leave the CCC party with a message of solidarity, after the resignation of the former party leader Nelson Chamisa.
In a letter to National Assembly Speaker, which has been seen by Zim Now, Mahere tendered her resignation in accordance with the provisions of the constitution of the country.
“I hereby tender written notice of my resignation from Parliament with immediate effect in accordance with section 129(1)(b) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe,” Mahere wrote in the letter.
She also took to X to thank the constituency for the faith and announcing her decision to resign.
“Mt Pleasant, I have officially submitted my resignation from Parliament and will cease to be a member of CCC,” Mahere added.
