Dzivaresekwa armed robber nabbed

A 27-year-old-man, David Madzima has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery which occurred at a Dzivaresekwa house.

The suspect was arrested after he attacked a couple and got away with a laptop, US$100 among other valuables, to which he is also facing another theft case which occurred in the same area.

In a statement, national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said that the suspect was interviewed by detectives and revealed his accomplices.

“The detectives made a follow-up and interviewed the suspect who revealed that he participated in the robbery and was given US$100 as part of his share from the loot.

“The suspect implicated Lameck Madzima, Tatenda Madzima, Roman Badza and Slovenian Nyaude, who are still at large,” reads the statement.

Meanwhile, police have also confirmed the arrest of Ronald Edward Chigwida in connection with a number of robbery cases in Marondera, Gweru, Bulawayo and Harare.

In the statement, Nyathi reiterated that information on the suspect was that he was linked to two cases of robbery, which occurred on November 12, 2023 at two different houses.

“The police received information that the suspect was in Beatrice and was linked to two cases of robbery which occurred on 12th November 2023 at two different houses in Retreat, Waterfalls, Harare where a cellphone, three laptops and US$3 062 cash stolen,” Nyathi said in the statement.
