Man faces attempted murder charges after striking another with beer bottle

A Harare man, who struck another who had gone to his house with a beer bottle on the neck, has appeared in court.

Herbert Nhamo, 26, of Hatcliffe Extension, appeared before magistrate Donald Ndirowei charged with attempted murder.

The complainant in this matter is Proud Mambiri, 26, of Hatcliffe Extension.

The State alleges that on February 6, at around 1900 hours in Hatcliffe Extension, Nhamo heard footsteps outside his house.

He reportedly walked out of his room and discovered that it was Mambiri, who was just standing outside. Nhamo had altercation with Mambiri and moved towards him holding a beer bottle.

Nhamo allegedly struck Mambiri on the neck and he started bleeding profusely from the cut.

Nhamo allegedly fled from the scene and Mambiri’s brother, who is Nhamo’s neighbour, rushed to the scene and carried his brother to the police and made a report.

Nhako was ordered to appear in court on February 29.
