An Atlanta Drilling Company sales clerk has been taken to court on allegations of stealing money meant for the company.

Primrose Gamuchirai Mwoyoweshumba, 32, of Hatcliffe, appeared before magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts accused theft of trust property.

The complainant in this matter is Atlanta Drilling Company.

The State, through prosecutor Grace Mugocheke, alleges that from January 2023 to January 2024, Mwoyoweshumba was employed by Atlanta Drilling Company as a sales clerk had duties of marketing the company services, outsourcing clients, but she was not mandated to collect cash from clients.

The State alleges that Mwoyoweshumba approached clients and collected outstanding balances and pre-payments meant for drilling of boreholes and converted to her own use.

She allegedly collected to US$3 425 from clients on different occasions and used it to her benefit.

As a result, Atlanta Drilling Company lost US$3 425 and only US$220 was recovered following an internal agreement made between the company and Mwoyoweshumba.
