The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority has announced today the increase of fuel prices for the month of March, with slight increases in the US$ price as compared to the huge local currency margins.
The increase sees diesel 50 going for ZWL$26 086.51 per litre this month from ZWL$18 265.37 in February, while for blended petrol this month the price is set on ZWL$25 933.19 from ZWL$17 887.82 in February.
In US dollar terms, diesel 50 goes up to US$1.69 from US$1.67 per litre in February while the price of petrol is now US$1.68 from US$1.64.
Announcing the fuel price review in a statement, Zera said that the prices apply for the period from March 5 to April 4, where another review will be conducted. However, companies may sell at a price lower than the one announced by the energy regulatory body, depending on their trading advantages.
“The fuel prices are for March 2024 based on M-1 and they will be effective up to 4 April 2024.
“Operators may sell the petroleum products below the prescribed prices depending on their trading advantages,” Zera said.
