Zimbabwean striker Prince Dube finds himself in a predicament after requesting to terminate his contract with Tanzanian club Azam FC. Dube, who joined the club in 2020, has reportedly grown dissatisfied for undisclosed reasons and submitted a formal request for release.
However, Azam is proving to be a tough nut to crack. The club, citing the terms of the six-year contract Dube signed before the start of the season, has demanded a hefty US$300 000 fee in exchange for releasing the player. This significant sum has left Dube in a bind, with his next destination remaining unclear.
Dube’s career trajectory has seen him wear the jersey of Highlanders FC in Zimbabwe and South Africa’s SuperSport United. Despite a promising start at Azam, injuries have hampered his progress at times. Nevertheless, he remains a regular fixture for the Zimbabwe national team, the “Warriors,” having participated in the recent Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
