Three pupils died and one was injured earlier this week when they were run over by Toyota Fortuner while crossing the road just outside Mutare.
Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the deceased were identified as Blessing Chisaria, 9, Silvian Maponde, 13 and Strive Maponde, 7, all of Grange Toronto (Chirochangu Plot).
The police statement said a Toyota Fortuner vehicle veered off the road to the left and knocked down the pupils who were crossing the road at the 2-kilometre peg along Christmas Pass-Shamu Road, Mutare on 12th March 2024 at around 1500 hours.
A fourth unnamed pupil was injured and is admitted at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital.
