Former Caps United player and Zimbabwe Warriors defender Jimmy Dzingai has become the first player from the country to play in the Bangladesh Premier League after signing a contract with Muktijoddha SKC.
Dzingai, a product of the Aces Youth Academy who also later played for Nkana in Zambia and Yadah FC, put pen to paper to be in the books of the Dhakar-based club where he is expected to either play as a centre back or defensive midfielder.
Founded in 1981, Muktijoddha SKC is nick-named “The Freedom Fighters” and has a home at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium.
Dzingai recently severed ties with Caps United following remuneration differences and joins the South Asian club as a free agent.
For the Warriors, he participated in the qualifiers of the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt under the mentorship of Zdravko Logarusic.
