Vee Mhofu thrills Troika

Popular Mbira maestro, Vee Mhofu has cemented his position in the entertainment sector as he has made Troika his fortress.

Hundreds in the southern suburbs of Harare regularly throng the now-popular joint for some  Mbira music every Wednesday.

Revellers who spoke to Zim Now said Vee Mhofu’s music makes them reflect on how they grew up in the rural areas

“Vee Mhofu’s music is a constant reminder that we, as the young people, are also the custodians of our culture as Zimbabweans and Africans,” said Peter Makusha of Glen View 1.

Mhofu, who was in a no-nonsense mood, dressed in a white T-shirt, a pair of blue jeans with no shoes, with his fans describing him a as modern mbira player who has swag.

“Vee Mhofu has dimistified the myth that mbira music is for those who do not interact with water (Bathing), Vee Mhofu always look clean and he really appreciates and reminds all of us about our culture,” said Simba Ngwenya, a fan from Budiriro 5.

Vee Mhofu is a resident Mbira player at Troika, where he plays every Wednesday.

Troika Entertainment Manager, Adrian Tinashe Makanga said that they are turning Club Troika into a fortress of entertainment.

“We are bringing a touch of class here as we are trying to push or genres, we want Troika to be a fortress of entertainment, this coming Friday, we are hosting Andy Muridzo,” Makanga told Zim Now.
