A mechanic, who was given a car to fix and reportedly sold it, has been taken to court.
Tafadzwa Mudzingwa, 38, appeared before magistrate Ethel Chichera at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with theft of trust property.
The State through prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi, alleges that on March 30, Mudzingwa was given a car, a Toyota D4D double cab for repairs.
It is alleged that Mudzingwa then sold the car.
The court heard that the complainant started demanding his car but Mudzingwa failed to account for it.
Mudzingwa had allegedly sold the car to one MacMillan Chidziva.
As a result, it is alleged, US$18 000 was lost.
