A man who was given US$10 900 to clear a complainant’s car has been taken to court after using the money for his benefit.
Solomon Mhenyu, 49, of Beitbridge, appeared before magistrate Donald Ndirowei at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with theft of trust property.
He was remanded in custody.
The State, through prosecutor Anesu Chirenje, alleges that from January 7 to February 10, Mhenyu who is a clearing agent was given US$10 900 to clear the complainant’s car, a Mercedes Benz GLE with Zimra.
It is alleged that he then used the money for his benefit.
