The ZimbabweAnti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) has a new spokesperson Thandiwe Mlobane who is taking over the role with immediate effect.
This comes as President Emmerson Mnangagwa has picked a tribunal to look into the removal from office of Zacc commissioner, John Makamure, who was the spokesperson.
Prior to this appointment, Mlobane was Commissioner responsible for compliance and systems at the anti-graft body.
In a statement, Zacc said: “Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) hereby announces the appointment of Commissioner Thandiwe Mlobane as the spokesperson with immediate effect.
The tribunal was set up in terms of section 237(2)(c) and section 187(3) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe and is chaired by Retired Justice Maphios Cheda while Justice Ministry secretary, Virginia Mabhiza, is its secretary.
The other members of the tribunal are lawyer Regai Thandiwe Hove and private prosecutor Charles Warara. The Tribunal is expected to finish their probe within five months.
