Man arrested for sexually assaulting sleeping friend

A 32-year-old man was arraigned before the Chinhoyi Magistrates’ Courts facing allegations of aggravated indecent assault.

The accused allegedly had sex with the complainant while he was sleeping.

The National Prosecuting Authority reported that the accused and the complainant, 23, had spent the day drinking beer at their place of residence on March 31, 2024

At around 1700 hours the accused person requested that the complainant accompany him to a nearby house where the accused person provided part time security services.

“The complainant agreed and they drank more beer on their way. They continued drinking when they arrived at the house.

“The complainant asked to go and take a bath. As he was bathing, the accused person came twice and asked to see how big the complainant’s penis was but he refused to show him. After the complainant had finished bathing, they both retired to bed and as the complainant was fast asleep, the accused with him.

“On the 1st of April 2024 when the complainant woke up in the morning he could feel pain from his behind and when he went to bath he saw some sperms between his thighs,” the NPA said.

The complainant kept it to himself due to fear until on April 8 when he decided to report the matter to the police.

The matter was remanded to April 24, 2024 for trial.
