A bogus doctor, who was caught roaming around Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, has been taken to court.

Felix Tagonera, 34, of Hatcliffe Extension, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with impersonation.

He was ordered to deposit bail of US$100 and will appear in court on May 13.

The State alleges that on April 15, Tagonera went to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals putting a stethoscope on his neck and started moving up and down the corridors.

It is alleged that one Julia Shambare, who was on duty, spotted Tagonera and suspected him to be a bogus doctor because of his suspicious movements and told her colleague, Alexander Munera, who apprehended him.

Tagonera was taken to ZRP Parirenyatwa Post where he was searched by police officers and was found with a stethoscope, a business card stating he was a gynaecologist and a photocopy of one Charity Mungoda’s certificate.
