Still celebrating the week’s honours, Raza nominated for Player of the Month

 

 

ICC Men's Player of the Month nominees for October 2022 announced

Sikandar Raza is up for the ICC Men's Player of the Month, just after winning the player of the week award.

He has won the award already this year, becoming the first Zimbabwean to do so ever.

A second nomination within a couple of months is recognition for his star quality.

The all-rounder has been in excellent form at the ICC T20 World Cup and was the sole player to stand out in the ignominious defeat to Netherlands earlier this week.

He started the month off with a sensational show in their T20 World Cup opener against Ireland.

In the opening match against Ireland, Raza got 82 runs from just 47 balls and went on to claim bowling figures of 1/22 later in the match, setting Zimbabwe for a winning start.

He remained true in the match against Scotland as getting 40 runs from 23 balls and taking 1/20 with the ball.

At his lowest, he still managed 3/19 West Indies and 3/25 against Pakistan.

Raza has been truly a world star at the tournament and deserves

Virat Kohli (India) and David Miller (South Africa) are the other nominees for the ICC Men's player of the month.
