A man from Arcadia, Harare went to State House in the capital, started dancing before the police officers manning the premises, claiming he wanted to see his “father”, President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Felix Togaraseyi Magurei, 40, appeared at the Harare Magistrates' Courts accused of criminal trespassing.
He was remanded in custody.
The State alleges that on May 7, at around 1730 hours, Magurei went to the State House, Harare driving a Toyota Hilux Raider.
When he arrived, he parked his car at the visitor’s entrance, came out of the car and started dancing before a police officer who was manning the entry point into the State House.
He then said he wanted to see President Emmerson Mnangagwa whom he claimed to be his father.
The court heard that he then forced his way into the premises after being denied entry by the police, leading to his subsequent arrest.
It is alleged that his car was searched and an unknown pistol magazine, four rounds of unknown ammunition, one handheld Boafeng communication radio, a burnt bulb extract, a bunch of keys, a sjambok and toy firearm were recovered.
