Delta Corporation, Zimbabwe's leading beverage manufacturer, reiterated its commitment to supporting the music industry at the 14th Zimbabwe Music College graduation ceremony.
Ms. Patricia Kudzai Murambinda, General Manager of Corporate Affairs at Delta, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the growing importance of music as a driver of economic development, social cohesion, and cultural diplomacy.
Ms. Murambinda emphasized the company's belief in the power of music and its dedication to promoting the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) through initiatives like Chibuku Road to Fame.
She acknowledged the ZMC's role in nurturing talent and fostering cultural expression, and highlighted Delta's long-standing partnership with the college, including providing scholarships to students.The speech also addressed the national drug problem, urging graduating musicians to use their platform to raise awareness and combat the scourge. Ms. Murambinda called for a multi-sectoral approach involving musicians, corporations, government, and civil society to tackle this critical issue.
Congratulating the graduates, Ms. Murambinda hailed them as ambassadors for the ZMC, Delta, and Zimbabwe's cultural heritage.
She encouraged them to continue inspiring, creating, and sharing the beauty of music with the world, assuring them of continued support and celebration of their achievements.
The ceremony saw the graduation of students pursuing National Certificates and Advanced Certificates in Music.
