Another night in cells for Chimombe and Mpofu, same for Matonga

Three high profile individuals arrested yesterday will spend another night in the cells after their bail hearings were set to be heard tomorrow, Thursday June 28.

Legislator Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu who stand accused of taking payment for the delivery of goats to the state and converting the money for their own use will appear in court tomorrow for the continuation of their bail application.

The same fate befell former Information deputy minister, Bright Matonga in Chegutu when he was also detained in custody for continuance tomorrow.

Matonga is facing allegations of theft, has been remanded in custody and will appear in court for his bail hearing.

The former minister stands accused of forcefully taking tractors from his once business partner, David Van Breda’s farm to his Chigwell farm in Chegutu, leading to a report being filed against him.
