The rhythm of victory echoed through Yolanda Beer Hall in Chinhoyi this past weekend as Budiriro Cultural Arts, a Mhande dance group hailing from Kadoma, secured the coveted Mashonaland West championship title.

Their electrifying performance propelled them to the national finals of the prestigious Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival.

Budiriro Cultural Arts dominated the competition, leaving Chabvindoka Nyau dancers and Garawabika Gure Club in their wake as first and second runners-up respectively.

This win marks their place as the ninth group vying for the grand prize of US$15,000 at the national finals set for Masvingo on July 27th.

The stage is set for one final showdown in Bulawayo this Saturday at Phekiwe Bar.

This last provincial competition will determine the complete line-up for the national finals. So far, the contenders include Nyaungwe Dance Group (Mashonaland East), Bolamba (Matabeleland South), Pezhuba Pachena (Matabeleland North), Dzimbahwe Nengoma (Mashonaland Central), Gango (Masvingo), Mkango Malawi Nyau (Midlands), Dapurahunanzva (Manicaland), and Culture Warriors (Harare).

The Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival promises a vibrant display of Zimbabwe's rich cultural heritage.
