The 2024 edition of the Chibuku Neshamwari traditional dance festival is set to be held at Mucheke stadium on July 27 in Masvingo following successful completion of provincial competitions across the country’s 10 provinces that has set up 10 finalist teams of different genres for the final.
This years’ finals promise an electrifying atmosphere, with show organisers lining up star studded music performances from Jah Prayzah, Killer T and Tocky Vibes, who will close acts at the festival.
In a statement, Delta Corporation marketing manager, Irimayi Muzorewa confirmed the final showdown, noting that this year’s edition commenced on May 27 with provincial competitions that led to national finalists.
“Preparations are well underway for the Chibuku Neshamwari National Finals to be held on July 27, 2024, at Mucheke stadium in Masvingo. The following groups have made it to the National Final Competitions; Nyaungwe Dance Group from Mash East, Bolamba from Mat South, Pezhuba Pachena from Mat North, Dzibahwe Nengoma from Mash central, Culture warriors from Harare, Gango from Masvingo, Mkango from Midlands, Dapuraunanzva Arts Ensemble from Manicaland and Budiriro Arts from Mash West.”
The competition winners for this year’s edition will walk away with US$15 000, second prize US$10 000 and third prize US$7 500. Entrance is free to all revellers.
