Dynamos target West African strikers to boost flagging season

Dynamos, the struggling Zimbabwean football giants, are in a desperate search for goals.  Currently sitting a disappointing sixth in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, fourteen points behind leaders FC Platinum, coach Genesis Mangombe is placing the blame squarely on his misfiring strikers.

Ghanaian Emmanuel Paga, with a meager three goals in 18 matches, is the team's leading scorer, a statistic that paints a grim picture of their attacking woes. To address this crisis, Dynamos are turning to West Africa, with two strikers from Ghana and Cameroon expected in the country for trials "anytime soon."

Coach Mangombe acknowledges the gamble, stating, "We don't know them as yet...We have seen some videos of them, but we want them on the ground..." This urgency reflects the team's dire situation.

The strikers' arrival comes on the heels of a demoralizing 2-0 home defeat to Highlanders, a loss Mangombe attributes to a recent player strike.  With normalcy restored and a "wide pool of selection" available, Dynamos is hoping to turn the tide this weekend against Hwange.

However, Dynamos' struggles extend beyond just finishing. Their away form has been abysmal, with just two wins in seven matches outside Harare. Mangombe identifies a lack of consistency, primarily due to "poor finishing in front of goal." He emphasizes, "We are creating a lot of chances in each and every game we play... Even on the days we play badly, we still create good chances. So at the end of the day, if you fail to score, you are bound to face a lot of problems."
