Castle Lager Premier Soccer League strugglers Arenel Movers have parted ways with head coach Farai Tawachera. The decision comes as the Bulawayo-based side finds themselves anchored to the bottom of the log table.
While the club is yet to officially comment on the matter, it’s understood that Tawachera was informed of the decision and instructed not to travel with the team to Harare for their crucial clash against Herentals at Rufaro Stadium on Wednesday.
The former Bulawayo City, Harare City, and How Mine gaffer, Philani ‘Beefy’ Ncube, who was Tawachera’s assistant, is set to take over the reins on an interim basis. Ncube brings a wealth of experience to the role and will be tasked with the unenviable job of turning around the fortunes of the struggling Movers.
Arenel have endured a torrid campaign thus far, and the decision to relieve Tawachera of his duties is a clear indication of the club’s desperation to salvage their season. With the pressure mounting, Ncube faces a daunting challenge as he seeks to inspire a turnaround and propel Arenel up the league standings
