Defending Chibuku Super Cup champions Dynamos will have to wait to begin their title defence after their first round fixture clashed with a Caf Confederation Cup match.
The Glamour Boys were drawn against ZPC Kariba in the first round of the domestic cup competition, with matches scheduled for August 17-18. However, on August 18, Dynamos are set to face Zambian side Zesco United in the first leg of their Caf Confederation Cup preliminary round tie.
The Chibuku Super Cup is set to kick off on August 9 with two preliminary round matches. The tournament has grown in stature over the years, providing a platform for both established and emerging talent.
Premier Soccer League president Farai Jere expressed confidence in the tournament’s growth, highlighting increased attendance figures and the competition’s role in developing local football.
Delta Corporation, the competition’s sponsors, also expressed their commitment to supporting the sport and anticipated another thrilling edition of the Chibuku Super Cup.
The tournament is scheduled to culminate in the final on November 30.
