Kenya's Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat is expressing concern over injuries in his squad as they prepare to face Zimbabwe in a crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Friday.
Key players like skipper Michael Olunga and defender Collins Sichenje are doubtful for the match, while goalkeeper Ian Otieno has been ruled out. Despite these setbacks, Firat remains determined to secure positive results.
"The most important thing is the points we will have by the last match," Firat emphasized. "Sometimes it is important not to lose." He acknowledged the strength of both Zimbabwe and Namibia but expressed optimism about their chances.
Zimbabwe, too, has faced injury challenges, with defender Brendan Galloway and striker Tino Kadewere unavailable for the match. Coach Michael Nees has had to make adjustments to his squad.
Despite their recent losses to Kenya, Zimbabwe are hoping for a turnaround. Nees expressed satisfaction with the team's preparations and the conditions in Uganda.
