Daisy Mtukudzi has said that she did her best to accommodate all family members and even flew in Sandra Mutukudzi from the UK for the inaugural Oliver Mtukudzi International Festival of the Arts.

"The world has witnessed all the drama. I know people will still attack me, but what have I done to deserve this embarrassment? We did our best to accommodate the entire team, but this drama was beyond my control. I will leave it to God and the world to judge us,” Daisy told The Herald.

The festival, held at Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton in honor of late musician Oliver Mtukudzi has sparked social debate with some people calling Daisy an evil stepmother, after Selmor's unexpected exit sparked widespread controversy.

Selmor, who was allocated a two-hour prime performance slot, left the stage after just one song. Efforts by her husband, Tendai Manatsa, and her sister Sandra Mtukudzi—who was flown in from the UK by Daisy—failed to convince her to return and finish the performance.

Daisy defended herself against accusations of being responsible for the situation, saying she is being unfairly attacked on social media:

Big name crowd pullers who performed at the festival included Gemma Griffiths, Bryan K, Hope Masike, Jah Prayzah, and Tamy Moyo.
