Popular comedienne Madam Boss, real name Tarisai Chikocho, has been nominated for Emerging Female Influencer of the Year by Ladies in Media.
Announcing the development on her social media platforms, Madam Boss said being nominated in East Africa, “all I can say is Thank you Lord. Thank you, madam boss fans, I love you so much, looking forward to your vote”.
According to the letter written to Madam Boss by the Ghana-based Ladies in Media, its awards is a first of its kind and it aims to showcase the best in its media sector by awarding nominee’s dedication, concepts and originality.
They said Madam Boss has been contributing very well in the media industry.
“In honour of your tireless efforts and exceptional leadership in the nation’s media and communications, it gives us great pleasure to nominate you for the Ladies in Media Award which celebrate the achievements of women in the media space in Africa.
“We at Ladies in Media organisation believe that you deserve this recognition for fantastic job, extra ordinary commitment, dedication, and tremendous contribution to the media and communication industry,” reads the letter.
Ladies in Media was formed with the objective of offering mentorship to young ladies within the Ghanaian journalism and media space.
The organisation serves as a networking platform where members from all tertiary institutions are presented with business opportunities.
Madam Boss is no stranger to awards and honours as, in Zimbabwe, the popular comedienne has been a recipient of several awards, including the national arts Merit awards gong for the Outstanding Comedienne that she landed in February this year and the Institute of Corporate Directors Zimbabwe (ICDZ)’s 40 Most Influential Young Leaders for 2022.
