A stunning performance by Dynamos yesterday at Rufaro Stadium has thrown a spanner in the works of FC Platinum's title aspirations. The Harare giants, who have been inconsistent this season, produced a masterclass to defeat the log leaders 2-0.

This result leaves Simba Bhora on the cusp of their maiden Premier Soccer League title. With a nine-point lead and a game in hand, they need only avoid defeat against relegated Arenel Movers on Wednesday to clinch the championship.

FC Platinum, under the guidance of Norman Mapeza, were outplayed from start to finish. Despite dominating possession, they failed to create any meaningful chances and were punished by Dynamos' clinical finishing.

Emmanuel Ziocha and Valentine Kadonzvo scored the goals for the home side, showcasing their pace and precision. Dynamos could have easily added more goals to their tally, but missed several clear-cut opportunities.

"We tried but we did not create enough opportunities," admitted a dejected Mapeza. "It is a game of football, we have been fighting so hard from the beginning of the season."

Lloyd "Mablanyo" Chigowe, Dynamos' interim coach, was full of praise for his team's performance. "This team has got great potential if well managed... if all their welfare is attended to and they don't have any issues, they can challenge any side in this country," he said.

The victory has boosted Dynamos' chances of securing a top-four finish. They now sit seventh, just three points behind Highlanders in fourth place.

With three matches remaining, FC Platinum's title hopes are hanging by a thread. Their failure to capitalize on Simba Bhora's slip-up has left them in a precarious position.
