To ease financial burdens on low-income families, Epworth MP Zivai Mhetu has partnered with Old Mutual to launch a funeral policy costing just $1 per month. The initiative, which is already in action, aims to provide affordable funeral cover to the residents of Epworth, many of whom face economic challenges.

The policy was one of the key highlights of a feedback meeting held on December 13 at Kubatana Primary School, where Mhetu engaged with residents to discuss the pressing issues affecting their community.

Challenges raised during the meeting included persistent water shortages, lack of title deeds, erratic electricity supply, and the poor state of roads in the area.

Addressing the community, Mhetu reaffirmed his commitment to tackling these problems and outlined plans to improve service delivery in the constituency.

On the issue of road construction, he revealed that his team is awaiting funding from the Constituency Development Fund. These funds will be used to purchase fuel for machinery that will grade the roads.

Water shortages, a long-standing issue in Epworth, were also a key focus of the meeting.

Mhetu assured residents that efforts were underway to engage with relevant authorities to secure long-term solutions to improve water access in the community.

On the matter of title deeds, Mhetu emphasized the importance of granting residents legal ownership of their properties.

He promised to advocate for their formalization, which would bring stability and security to many families in the area.

Electricity issues were also addressed, with Mhetu pledging to work with power supply authorities to resolve the challenges and improve the reliability of the electricity grid.
